Mini Sessions 2015 (for my sister!)

I'm back!  At least for the next few months.  We'll see how it goes.

I've been thinking about doing something like this for months, racking my brain about how I can help my sister and her husband.  They've been dealing with infertility for almost 7 years now, and after trying everything, including 3 rounds of IVF, they've turned to adoption.  So we're thinking of ways to raise money for them, and photography is the best way for me to do that!

Half of the money I make this fall with mini sessions will go to their adoption fund.
E-mail me to book a session!

Gilbert Temple

We were looking for a nice print of the Gilbert Temple and....I just decided to go take some myself.  It was fun. I loved photoshopping them for different effects.

These are available in print and canvas if you'd like to order one (or more)!
I'm charging quite a bit less than usual for them because, hey, it's the temple!

Want to know more about temples (like why I'd take all these and why people would want to hang them in their homes)?  Click here to learn more.

This last one is where we pretend that it was built a hundredish years ago, like the Mesa temple.  :)

11x14 print $15
16x20 print $25

16x20 canvas $110
16x20 gallery wrap $110

20x20 canvas $120
20x20 gallery wrap $140

20x24 canvas $125
20x24 gallery wrap $150

Gallery wraps do not need to be framed; the image wraps around the sides.  The depth is 1 1/2 inches or 2 1/2 inches for $30 more.

Canvas will need to be framed.

7 Month Bubba

We called him Bubba the whole time I was pregnant with him...and it stuck once he was born.  I think Jeff even forgot his name was actually Zach at first.  Anyway, this is Zach a few months ago, at 7 months.

Isn't he just too cute??  I plunked him down on my bed for them because I love my pillows, and I love how they turned out.  And they kind of match the pictures I took of Blake at 9 months wearing just a tie and a diaper.

His expressions crack me up.  He's a happy boy.

I KNOW!!  You totally want to squish him, don't you??

Closing Up Shop

This is something I've been thinking about for awhile, a decision that's been hard but that I feel good about.

I'm stepping away from photography...indefinitely.  I would say permanently, but maybe I'll decide in a few years that I'm up for it again.  But for now, I won't be doing photography at all for the foreseeable future.

I have several reasons...not staying in practice because I have so few clients; not making enough to keep up my equipment to the standard I'd like; etc. But all these would be something I would just deal with and figure out if I still had the passion for photography that I need to do a fabulous job.  I just don't anymore. I haven't been enjoying it for awhile, and have gotten to the point where I'm really just doing it for the money and the finished product.  The process is a complete chore for me now, and my clients deserve more than that.  I know I wouldn't want to hire a photographer if I knew their heart wasn't in it, so I don't want to do that to anybody else.

A huge thanks to all my clients, especially those loyal repeat clients who suffered through my inconsistent availability during my weird pregnancies and all that drama.  I loved meeting and working with all of you, but it's time for me to hang up my camera for awhile and just be a mom!

Here’s a list of photographers in the valley I’ve found whose work I like.  I tried not to make the list too long, but to include a variety in pricing and style.  None of them are extremely different from my style, but all are a little different, so make sure you really look through their websites before you choose one!

Anna Hollister Photography
A little more expensive than me, but her photos are beautiful!

Darby Elizabeth Photography
This is the closest to my price and style that I found.

Sarah Grace Photography
Fun, colorful images. I don’t think she offers a CD; you order prints directly from her, so it’s more expensive than me.

Bri Holloway Photography
This one is more pricey, but worth it if you can afford her GORGEOUS photos!

Jennifer Bowen Photography
She’s more expensive, but super cute, so probably worth it.

Jenna Bishop Photography
Her style is similar to mine. She offers digital images, but for a bit more.

Please note I’ve never met any of these photographers, so I can’t attest to their personality or shooting style.   Good luck!

Christmas Super Mini Sessions!

If you still need Christmas card pictures....

THIS WEDNESDAY, Dec 12, I will be offering SUPER MINI sessions at the Mesa LDS Temple.

From 4-5 pm, every 10 minutes.

You'll receive 2 family photos e-mailed to you.

$50.

Pick your time, on the tens, and let me know! :) You'll want to arrive 10 minutes early to make sure you don't miss it! This is perfect for young families with short attention spans and tight budgets! Haha. (And for anyone who just doesn't want to do a long shoot for more money.)

Here are a couple from the Z family I just did and forgot to post on here! :)

New Identity! {Forget Me Not Photography to Jana Miller Photography}

I'm in the process of changing my business name to Jana Miller Photography.  I've been wanting to do this for awhile, to simplify things. My website has always been hard for people to remember, so soon you'll be able to find me at janamillerphotography.com!  I'm expecting to change the url for this blog too, and I may have to get a new facebook page as well. Hopefully I won't lose anybody in the process, so keep an eye on the blog and facebook for updates!

In the mean time, here's a bit of Annie Pie for you to enjoy.

So how do you like the new name and logo? :)

Sneak Peek for Lindy

Lindy, if this is what a disastrous photo shoot looks like, I'm thinking you'll have a lot of people who wouldn't mind trading you places... ;)

The R. Fam {Downtown Gilbert Photography}

Okay, these turned out so much better than I expected!  I mean, I loved the location and these boys are adorable, but when I went through them I couldn't believe the adorableness of the smiles and the smolders from these boys, or the awesome lighting on some of them!  They were awesome. This was the first time I've shot downtown Gilbert and I loved that too!  Awesome session.

Oh, and since my website is down for the moment they get more pictures than usual on here!  :)

(see what I mean about the smolder?)

The R. Family {AZ Family Photography}

I look forward to this fam every year, because they seriously laugh more than any family I know. It's so fun to do their pictures because they have something hilarious to say about everything I have them do and they're so laid back.  They were pretty proud of moving up to "Advanced Posing" this year. :)
